Cation exchange resin 阳离子交换树脂

Cation exchange resin is a chemical substance mainly used for the purification of refined sugar and high-grade edible syrup. The ion exchange resin is generally porous or granular, and its size is about 0.5~1.0mm.

The ion exchange process is a reversible chemical reaction between the ions in the liquid phase and the ions in the solid phase. Exchange solid adsorption, in order to maintain the electrical neutrality of the aqueous solution, so the ion exchange solid must release equivalent ions back into the solution.

1. Strong acid type cation exchange resin: mainly contains strong acid reactive groups such as sulfonic acid group (-SO3H), this ion exchange resin can exchange all cations.

2. Weak acid cation exchange resin: It has weak reactive groups such as carboxyl group (-COOH group), this ion exchange resin can only exchange cations in weak bases such as Ca2+, Mg2+, for ions in strong bases such as Na+, K+, etc. Exchange is not possible.

Cationic resin is a polymer obtained by polymerizing styrene and divinylbenzene and sulfonated by sulfuric acid. The production process does not contain gelatin and any other animal extracts. When the cation exchange resin encounters water, it can exchange a certain active ion of itself with an electric ion in the water, that is, a displacement reaction occurs, and the soluble ions in the water are removed. Cation exchange resins are available in powder and spherical forms, both of which are artificially synthesized.
